American Dansan to Japan
Celebrating the 120th Anniversary of the Birth of Founder Niwano

It’s been ten years since US sanghas gathered in Tokyo for a group pilgrimage to the headquarters of Rissho Kosei-kai. For American Dansan 2026, we come together to pay homage to the Eternal Buddha Shakyamuni at the Great Sacred Hall, experience the traditions of our faith at its place of origin, and strengthen our connections with the sangha from the US and Japan.
Through this American Dansan, we will celebrate our unity and diversity in the Ichijo Parade at headquarters with sanghas from around Tokyo and inspire the wish to follow the Bodhisattva path as the Founder has guided us.
We will also explore areas of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Nara to enhance our understanding of Japanese culture and Buddhist history, to cultivate our spirit of oneness, and seek the Buddha nature in all our encounters!
